VfR 06 Neuss travelled to face SV Uedesheim II on Wednesday, 9 September 2026, in the fifth matchday of the Kreisliga B season. The match kicked off at 20:00 and was played in rainy conditions.
After a difficult run of away fixtures, the team was determined to return to Neuss with a positive result. Once again, the squad included a number of young players, among them several young South Korean players.
VfR made a solid start and went into half-time with the score level at 1–1. Everything remained open going into the second half. Both teams emerged looking for the next goal, but VfR suffered a major setback by conceding twice shortly after the restart.
Uedesheim takes control
With the momentum now on their side, Uedesheim grew in confidence. The home team made effective use of their height and physical strength at set pieces, while their composed and skilful passing through midfield repeatedly caused problems for VfR. The visitors continued to compete and scored a second goal, but were unable to turn the match around. The final score was 5–2 to SV Uedesheim II.
Player-coach Ryoji Ishikawa left the pitch during the second half but continued to urge the team forward from the touchline. Despite the players’ determined effort, the response they were searching for did not arrive, and the result marked VfR’s fourth consecutive defeat.
Attention now turns to the next fixture. On 20 September, VfR will welcome SV Rot-Weiß Elfgen to the Jahnstadion. After a long sequence of away matches, the team is determined to give everything in front of its home supporters and secure a victory for the people of Neuss. We need your support!
